Simple Machines

How machines make work easier, with Millie and her kitten Biscuit, at a grade 4 level: the six simple machines (levers, wheels and axles, pulleys, ramps, wedges and screws), why less force always means moving a longer way, and the compound machines built from them, like scissors and wheelbarrows.

Every card is a little story: “Princess Ruby is heavier than Lily. Where should Ruby sit so the seesaw balances?” Each machine has its own world, from Farmer Daisy’s Tool Shed to the Star Tower, and a big seek-and-find picture to explore.
