Challenge: Compound Machines in the Fairy Garden
Challenge time in the Fairy Garden! Lily is busy with her wheelbarrow, garden scissors and bicycles, and every tool here is built from more than one simple machine.
Remember: A compound machine is two or more simple machines working together. Scissors are two levers with wedges for blades. A wheelbarrow is a lever with a wheel and axle, and its wheel is the fulcrum. A bicycle has wheels and axles, levers and screws.
Magic trick: Spot the simple machines inside, then count them.
