Ramps: The Bunny Farm Market
It’s market day at the Bunny Farm Market! Farmer Daisy rolls barrels of apples up a wooden ramp into her cart, and pumpkins sit in a row, waiting their turn.
Remember: A ramp is an inclined plane: a flat, sloping surface. Pushing something up a ramp takes less force than lifting it straight up, but you move it a longer way. A long, gentle ramp needs less force than a short, steep one to the same height.
Magic trick: Gentle slope, gentle push.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Bunny Farm Market and find:
- ๐ Find the ramp up to the cart, and the steps beside it. Roll a barrel up the ramp and you never lift it. Up the steps, you’d have to lift it every time!
- ๐ข๏ธ Find the 4 barrels. Rolling them up a ramp is much easier than lifting them.
- ๐ Find the 4 pumpkins on the market stall. They’ll go up the ramp next.
- ๐ฑ Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
