Levers: The Castle Seesaw Garden
Behind Rainbow Castle is Princess Ruby’s Castle Seesaw Garden. Seesaws tip up and down on the lawn, garden shovels stand in the flower beds, and a long bar is ready to lift a big round rock.
Remember: A lever is a stiff bar that turns on a point called the fulcrum. Your push or pull is the effort, and the thing you move is the load. The farther from the fulcrum you push, the less force you need. Seesaws, shovels and bottle openers are levers.
Magic trick: Long arm, light work: push far from the fulcrum.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Castle Seesaw Garden and find:
- ⚖️ Find the 2 seesaws. Each plank turns on the triangle in its middle: that’s the fulcrum.
- Find the 3 shovels. Push the handle, the blade lifts: every shovel is a lever.
- 🪨 Find the big rock with the long bar under it. The log is the fulcrum. Push down on the far end of the bar and the rock lifts!
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
