Heart and Blood: Coach Nora's Field

On your marks! At Coach Nora’s Field there are cones to race around and water bottles waiting on the bench. After a race, everyone puts a hand on their chest to feel their heart thumping.

Remember: Your heart is a muscle about the size of your fist. It pumps blood all around your body through tubes called blood vessels. Blood carries oxygen and food to every part of you. When you run, your heart beats faster.

Magic trick: Make a fist and squeeze it: your heart is about that big, and it squeezes like that every time it beats!

Seek and Find

Look carefully at the picture of Coach Nora’s Field and find:

  • 🔶 Find the 6 orange cones. Running around them makes your heart beat faster.
  • 🚰 Find the 4 water bottles. Water helps your heart and muscles work, so drink up after a run!
  • ❤️ Find the 3 heart flags. Make a fist: your heart is about that big.
  • 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
