Millie & Biscuit

Eating and Digestion: Millie's Kitchen

Lunch is ready in Millie’s Kitchen! Grandma Bea has made sandwiches and set out apples and jam. Let’s follow a bite of food on its long trip through the body.

Remember: Food goes on a journey called digestion: mouth (teeth chew, saliva makes it soft) → food pipe → stomach (squeezes and mixes it with juices) → small intestine (the good parts pass into your blood) → large intestine (soaks up water). Food gives you energy to move and grow.

Magic trick: My Friend Sofia Sings Loudly: Mouth, Food pipe, Stomach, Small intestine, Large intestine.

Seek and Find

Look carefully at the picture of Millie’s Kitchen and find:

  • 🥪 Find the 4 sandwich plates. Chomp! Digestion starts in your mouth.
  • 🍎 Find the 4 red apples in the blue bowl. Crunchy fruit gets chewed into tiny pieces by your teeth.
  • 🫙 Find the 3 jars of jam. Sweet food gives you energy, but only a little is best.
  • 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
