Weather Tools: The Weather Station at the Star Tower
On a grassy terrace beside the Star Tower, Professor Luna Moon has set up a weather station! Each tool measures one thing about the weather, and she checks them every single day.
Remember: A thermometer measures temperature (how hot or cold). A rain gauge measures how much rain fell. A wind vane points to the direction the wind is coming from. An anemometer has spinning cups that measure wind speed. A windsock fills with wind and points the way the wind is blowing. A scientist who studies weather is a meteorologist.
Magic trick: An anemometer is all about wind: its cups spin faster when the wind blows harder.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Weather Station at the Star Tower and find:
- ๐ก๏ธ Find the 5 weather tools in a row. A thermometer, a rain gauge, a wind vane, an anemometer and a windsock.
- ๐ Find the anemometer’s 3 cups. The harder the wind blows, the faster they spin.
- ๐ Find the striped windsock. It points the way the wind is blowing.
- ๐ฑ Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
