Rain, Snow, Hail and Rainbows: The Rainbow Garden
A summer shower has just passed over the Rainbow Garden, the Sun has come out, and a big rainbow is arching over the flowers! Umbrellas are drying on the lawn and rain boots wait by the gate.
Remember: Water falls from clouds as rain, snow or hail. Snowflakes are ice crystals with 6 points. Hail is balls of ice that grow inside tall thunderstorm clouds, so it can fall even in summer. A rainbow appears when sunlight shines through raindrops: the Sun must be behind you and the rain in front. A rainbow has 7 colours, with red on the outside (the top).
Magic trick: Read the rainbow from the top: ROY G BIV, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Rainbow Garden and find:
- ๐ Find the rainbow. Sunlight is shining through the last raindrops. Find red on the outside!
- โ๏ธ Find the 4 umbrellas drying on the lawn. The shower is over, so they can dry in the sunshine.
- ๐ข Find the 3 pairs of rain boots. 3 pairs of 2 make 6 boots in all.
- ๐ฑ Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
