Right Triangles: The Sailboats at Mermaid Lagoon
Sailing day at Mermaid Lagoon! Octavia’s little sailboats bob on the turquoise water, each with a triangle sail, and pink seashells sparkle on the sand.
Remember: A right triangle has one right angle: a square corner of exactly 90°. Its other two angles are both acute, and together they make 90°. A triangle can never have two right angles.
Magic trick: Fit the corner of a sheet of paper into it. If it fits exactly, it’s a right angle.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Sailboats at Mermaid Lagoon and find:
- ⛵ Find the 4 sailboats. Look at each big coloured sail: one square corner by the mast makes it a right triangle.
- 🐚 Find the 5 seashells on the beach. Spiral shells have no corners at all!
- ⛱️ Find the 2 beach umbrellas. Shady spots for Octavia’s friends.
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
