We're, Were and Where: Mermaid Lagoon
Splash into Mermaid Lagoon! Seashells lie on the sand, sea turtles paddle in the water and little fish swim by in a row.
Remember: we’re is a short way to say we are: “We’re going for a swim!” were is are in the past: “Yesterday we were at the lagoon.” where asks about a place: “Where is the seashell?” (And wear is what you do with clothes.)
Magic trick: Where has here inside it, just like there: they are all place words. Were rhymes with fur. We’re has the little mark where the letter a of are was squeezed out.
