The Calendar: The Star Tower
At bedtime, Millie visits the Star Tower, a little observatory on a hill where Professor Luna Moon watches the night sky through a big telescope. She keeps a calendar of every starry night: days, weeks, months and years.
Remember: 7 days = 1 week. 12 months = 1 year. To change weeks into days, multiply by 7: 2 weeks = 2 × 7 = 14 days. To change days into weeks, divide by 7: 21 days = 3 weeks.
Magic trick: A week always comes back to the same day: if today is Monday, in 7 days it’s Monday again.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Star Tower and find:
- 📅 Find the calendar. It has 4 rows of 7 squares: 4 weeks of 7 days is 4 × 7 = 28 days.
- ⭐ Find the 7 golden stars hanging from the ceiling. One for each day of the week: 7 days = 1 week.
- 🔭 Find Professor Luna Moon at her telescope. She looks at the stars every night of the week.
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
