Schedules: The Sleepover
It’s the Sleepover at Millie’s house! There are sleeping bags, pillows, a movie, cupcakes and a very sleepy kitten. A sleepover has a schedule: a plan that says when each thing starts and ends.
Remember: In a schedule, each thing starts at one time and ends at another. Start + how long = end, and end - how long = start. A night’s sleep crosses 12: from 10:00 at night to 7:00 in the morning is 2 hours to 12:00, then 7 more: 9 hours.
Magic trick: Read the schedule like a story: what happens first, how long it lasts, and what comes next.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Sleepover and find:
- ๐ Find the 4 sleeping bags. 4 friends in a row! If they fall asleep at 10:00 at night and wake up at 7:00 in the morning, they sleep 9 hours.
- ๐ง Find the 6 cupcakes. 2 rows of 3 make 6 cupcakes, one for each girl and two to spare.
- โฐ Find the 3 alarm clocks. They have no numbers, just little dots where the numbers go. From one dot to the next is 5 minutes.
- ๐ฑ Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
