Eight and Ate: The Sprinkle Bakery
Welcome to the Sprinkle Bakery! Chef Rosie has a tray of cupcakes ready, and somebody has already eaten a treat from the little plate.
Remember: Eight is the number 8: “Chef Rosie bakes eight cupcakes.” Ate means had food, a time before now. Today I eat, yesterday I ate: “Biscuit ate a crumb.”
Magic trick: Eight starts the same way as eighteen and eighty: they are all number words. Ate is short and quick, like a snack that is gone in one bite!
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Sprinkle Bakery and find:
- 🧁 Find the 8 cupcakes on Chef Rosie’s tray. 2 rows of 4 make eight cupcakes.
- 🍽️ Find the empty plate with crumbs. Somebody ate a treat!
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
