Let's, That's and What's: The Octopus Tea Party
Octavia the octopus is hosting the Octopus Tea Party! Two teapots are ready to pour, cupcakes sit on a tray, and seahorse guests wait on their chairs.
Remember: let us → let’s (“Let’s have tea!”), that is → that’s, what is → what’s, there is → there’s and here is → here’s. “Here’s your cup, and that’s your cupcake!”
Magic trick: Let’s is the short form for inviting friends: let us pour, let us play. The apostrophe takes the place of the u of us.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Octopus Tea Party and find:
- 🫖 Find the 2 teapots. “Let’s pour the tea!” Let’s is a short way to say let us.
- 🧁 Find the 5 cupcakes. That’s a lot of pink frosting!
- 🐠 Find the 3 seahorse guests. Octavia tells each one: “Here’s your seat!”
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
