The Short Form Challenge: Millie's Kitchen
Grandma Bea is baking in Millie’s Kitchen, and every short form is back for a challenge! Pies cool by the window, mixing bowls line the counter, and a tray of cookies is fresh from the oven.
Remember: Every family from this deck: the not-words (isn’t, don’t, can’t, won’t), am/is/are (I’m, she’s, we’re), will (I’ll, you’ll), have (I’ve, they’ve), would/had (I’d, he’d) and let’s.
Magic trick: Always say the long way first: I am, will not, they have, let us. If the long way makes sense, you have found the right short form.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of Millie’s Kitchen and find:
- 🥧 Find the 3 pies on the window sill. They’re still hot, so don’t touch!
- 🥣 Find the 4 mixing bowls. We’ve used every one of them!
- 🍪 Find the tray with 6 cookies. Let’s share them: that’s one for everyone!
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
