Flowers, Bees and Pollen: The Bee Meadow
Buzz, buzz! In the Bee Meadow, friendly bees and butterflies fly from flower to flower, and three beehives stand in a row by the hedge.
Remember: Pollen is a yellow powder made by flowers. Bees visit flowers to drink sweet nectar, and pollen sticks to their fuzzy bodies. When they carry pollen to another flower, that is pollination. Then the flower can make seeds. Bees turn nectar into honey.
Magic trick: Bees and flowers are pollen pals: the bee gets a sweet drink, and the flower gets its pollen carried.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Bee Meadow and find:
- 🐝 Find the 5 fuzzy bees. Look for the yellow pollen on their legs.
- 🦋 Find the 4 butterflies. Butterflies carry pollen too, while they sip nectar.
- 🍯 Find the 3 beehives. Inside, the bees turn nectar into honey.
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
