A Plant's Life Cycle: The Sunflower Patch
At Farmer Daisy’s Sunflower Patch, a row of pots shows a sunflower’s whole life, from one little seed to a giant flower full of new seeds.
Remember: A plant’s life cycle: seed โ sprout โ seedling โ grown plant โ flower โ new seeds. The new seeds grow into new plants, so the cycle starts all over again.
Magic trick: A life cycle is a circle, not a line: the end (new seeds) is also the beginning.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Sunflower Patch and find:
- ๐ชด Find the 5 pots on the bench. Read them left to right: seed, sprout, seedling, grown plant, flower.
- ๐ป Find the 6 tall sunflowers along the fence. Each one will make hundreds of new seeds.
- ๐งบ Find the 3 dried sunflower heads. They are full of seeds, ready to start the cycle again.
- ๐ฑ Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
