Planets in Order: The Planet Parade
Look up! On the ceiling of the Planet Parade room, Professor Luna Moon has hung all 8 planets in one long row, starting next to a glowing Sun lamp.
Remember: From the Sun outwards: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. Earth is the 3rd planet. Pluto is a dwarf planet, so it is not one of the 8.
Magic trick: My Very Excellent Mother Just Served Us Noodles: each word starts with the same letter as a planet, in order from the Sun.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Planet Parade and find:
- 🪐 Find the 8 smiling planets hanging in a row. Start next to the Sun lamp and say them: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.
- 🌍 Find Earth. It is the 3rd planet from the Sun: the blue and green one.
- 🟤 Find little Pluto sitting on the shelf. Pluto is a dwarf planet, so it is not in the parade.
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
