Skip-Counting and Multiples: The Lemonade Stand
Welcome to the Lemonade Stand! Zoe and Mia set out their cups in groups: 4 cups on every tray, 5 lemons on every plate. Skip-count by the group and the numbers you say are the multiples.
Remember: The multiples of a number are the numbers you land on when you skip-count by it. Multiples of 4: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20โฆ Every multiple is in that number’s times table.
Magic trick: Multiples of 10 end in 0, multiples of 5 end in 0 or 5, and multiples of 2 are always even.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Lemonade Stand and find:
- ๐ฅค Find the trays of cups. Count by 4s, one tray at a time: 4, 8, 12 cups. 4, 8 and 12 are multiples of 4.
- ๐ Find the plates of lemons. Count by 5s: 5, 10 lemons.
- ๐ฎ Find the paper lanterns. Count them by 2s: 2, 4, 6 lanterns.
- ๐ฑ Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
