Odd and Even: The Bunny Farm Market
Welcome to the Bunny Farm Market! Farmer Daisy loves to put things in pairs: carrots, pumpkins and jars of honey. If every one has a partner, the number is even. If one is left over, it’s odd.
Remember: Even numbers end in 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8. Odd numbers end in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9. Odd + odd = even, even + even = even, and odd + even = odd.
Magic trick: Only the last digit matters: 58 is even because 8 is even, and 73 is odd because 3 is odd.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Bunny Farm Market and find:
- ๐ฅ Find the carrots tied in pairs. 5 pairs and none left over, so 10 is even!
- ๐ Find the row of pumpkins. Pair them up in your head: 2 pairs and 1 left over, so 5 is odd.
- ๐ฏ Find the honey jars. 3 jars: 1 pair and 1 left over. Odd again!
- ๐ฑ Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
