Millie & Biscuit

Piece and Peace, Wait and Weight: Millie's Kitchen

Welcome to Millie’s Kitchen, where Grandma Bea is baking brownies! There are pieces of brownie to share, brass weights on the old kitchen scale, and a little time to wait while everything cools.

Remember: A piece is a part of something: “a piece of brownie.” Peace is calm and quiet, with no fighting: “The kitchen is full of peace.” To wait is to stay until something happens: “We wait for the brownies to cool.” Weight is how heavy something is: “The scale shows the weight of the apples.”

Magic trick: A piece of pie: piece starts with p, i, e. Weight and height both end in the same five letters, and both tell how big you are. Wait has ai, like rain: you wait for the rain to stop.
