How Much Is Left?: The Butter Sticks
Millie is baking cookies, but the open butter stick is running low! Before she opens a new stick from the fridge, she works out exactly how much she still needs.
Remember: How much is left? Take away: what you had − what you used. How much more do I need? Take away too: what you need − what you have. 100 ml − 75 ml = 25 ml more.
Magic trick: Count up! From 75 to 100 is 25, so 25 is the missing amount.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Butter Sticks and find:
- 🧈 Find the new butter sticks in the fridge. There are 4 new sticks waiting in a row.
- 🍽️ Find the open butter Grandma Bea is cutting on its dish. She uses up the open butter first, then takes the rest from a new stick.
- 🥛 Find the milk bottles in the fridge door. Count them: 3 bottles.
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
