Dividing 3-Digit Numbers: Rainbow Castle
High in the clouds, Rainbow Castle is getting ready for a royal ball, and Princess Ruby has hundreds of things to share. Split each big number into friendly parts you can divide.
Remember: 156 ÷ 6: 156 = 120 + 36. 120 ÷ 6 = 20 and 36 ÷ 6 = 6, so 156 ÷ 6 = 20 + 6 = 26. Check: 26 × 6 = 156.
Magic trick: Find a big friendly part first, like 120 for 6 or 200 for 4, then share what is left.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of Rainbow Castle and find:
- 🌹 Find the 6 vases of roses. If Princess Ruby shares 156 roses equally among them, each vase gets 156 ÷ 6 = 26 roses.
- 🧁 Find the 4 tables with cupcakes. If 128 cupcakes are shared equally onto the tables, each table gets 128 ÷ 4 = 32 cupcakes.
- 💎 Find the 3 treasure chests. If 312 gems are shared equally among them, each chest holds 312 ÷ 3 = 104 gems.
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
