Saving for a Goal: The Toy Shop Window
In the Toy Shop Window there’s a shiny lemon-yellow wagon, sun hats and kites. The girls can’t buy them all at once, so they save a little money every day until they have enough.
Remember: Saving the same amount each day is like skip-counting. Save $2.00 a day: $2.00, $4.00, $6.00, $8.00… To reach $9.00 you need 5 days, because after 4 days you only have $8.00.
Magic trick: Keep counting until you reach or pass the goal. Not quite there yet? That needs one more day!
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Toy Shop Window and find:
- 🛒 Find the lemon-yellow wagon. There’s just 1 wagon, and the girls are saving for it!
- 👒 Find the sun hats. There are 5 sun hats. If a hat costs $9.00 and Luna saves $2.00 a day, she needs 5 days.
- 🪁 Find the kites. There are 4 kites. A kite costs $12.00, so saving $3.00 a day takes 4 days.
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
