Bones and the Skeleton: The Check-Up Room
Welcome to the Check-Up Room, where kind Dr. Amara looks after children. She has a friendly skeleton model, glowing X-ray pictures and a tray of milk for strong bones.
Remember: Your skeleton is all of your bones together. A grown-up has about 206 bones. Bones hold you up, give you your shape and protect soft parts inside: the skull protects your brain and the ribs protect your heart and lungs. Where two bones meet is a joint.
Magic trick: Bones are alive! They grow as you grow, and they can even mend themselves when they break.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Check-Up Room and find:
- 💀 Find the friendly skeleton model. Its round skull is a hard helmet for the brain.
- 🩻 Find the 3 X-ray pictures. X-rays let Dr. Amara see the bones inside hands and feet without a single ouch.
- 🥛 Find the 4 glasses of milk. Milk has calcium, which helps build strong bones.
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
