I've, We've and Could've: The Fairy Garden
Tiptoe into the Fairy Garden! Tiny fairy doors hide in the tree roots, red tulips grow in a row, and ladybugs march along a log.
Remember: Short forms with have: I have → I’ve, you have → you’ve, we have → we’ve, they have → they’ve, could have → could’ve, should have → should’ve, would have → would’ve. “We’ve found a fairy door!”
Magic trick: When you hear could’ve, should’ve or would’ve, the hidden word is always have: could have, should have, would have. The apostrophe sits where the h and the a of have jumped out.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Fairy Garden and find:
- 🚪 Find the 3 fairy doors in the tree roots. “I’ve found them all!” I’ve is a short way to say I have.
- 🌷 Find the 7 red tulips along the path. They’ve grown so tall!
- 🐞 Find the 4 ladybugs on the log. We’ve counted every one.
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
