Wave: Mermaid Lagoon
Welcome to Mermaid Lagoon! The friendly mermaids lift their hands to say hello, and big foamy waves roll in toward the sand. Two things, one word: wave.
Remember: wave (said one way) has two meanings. A wave can be a hello with your hand: “Zoe gives the mermaids a big wave.” A wave can also be moving water in the sea: “A wave splashes over the rocks.”
Magic trick: Look at what is around the word. If someone gives or sends a wave, it is a hand. If it splashes, rolls or crashes, it is the sea.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of Mermaid Lagoon and find:
- 🧜 Find the 3 mermaids giving a wave. Each one is waving hello with her hand.
- 🌊 Find the 2 big waves in the sea. These waves are moving water rolling to the beach.
- 🐚 Find the 5 seashells in a row on the sand. Can you see one more word from this deck hiding there? It is row!
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
