Millie & Biscuit

Live, Close and the Big Mix: The Lemonade Stand

Time for the big mix at the Lemonade Stand! Sofia and Millie live close by, a live frog band is playing music, and every word from this deck might pop up.

Remember: live is said two ways. Live that rhymes with give means to have your home: “Sofia and Millie live on this street.” Live that rhymes with five means happening right in front of you: “A live band is playing!” close is said two ways too. Close with a buzzy z sound, like in rose, means to shut: “Close the lid.” Close with a hissing s sound, like in bus, means near: “The park is close.”

Magic trick: You live in a house: live rhymes with give. A live show is happening right now, and you can count to five. Close the door with a buzzy z; stand close with a hissing s.

Seek and Find

Look carefully at the picture of the Lemonade Stand and find:

  • 🐸 Find the 3 frogs in the live band. This live rhymes with five: the music is happening right now.
  • 🥤 Find the row of 5 cups. A row is things side by side in a line.
  • 🍋 Find the 2 jugs with their lids closed. Close the lid to keep the lemonade fresh.
  • 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
