Which Part Do We Eat?: The Bunny Farm Market
Welcome to Farmer Daisy’s stall at the Bunny Farm Market! Every crate holds a different part of a plant: roots, stems, leaves, flowers, seeds and fruits.
Remember: We eat every part of a plant! Roots: carrots, radishes, beets. Stems: asparagus. Leaves: lettuce, spinach. Flowers: broccoli, cauliflower. Seeds: peas, beans. Fruits: tomatoes, cucumbers, apples. A fruit is the part that holds the seeds.
Magic trick: Look for seeds inside: if it holds seeds, it is a fruit, even when it is not sweet (like a tomato or a cucumber).
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Bunny Farm Market and find:
- ๐ฅ Find the 6 carrots. Carrots are roots: they grew under the ground.
- ๐ฅฆ Find the 4 heads of broccoli. Broccoli is made of tiny flowers that have not opened yet.
- ๐ Find the 5 tomatoes. Tomatoes hold seeds inside, so they are fruits.
- ๐ฑ Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
