Ordering Numbers: The Jump-Rope Contest
It’s the Jump-Rope Contest! Coach Nora counts every jump, and at the end the girls line up from the fewest jumps to the most. Putting numbers in order is just comparing, again and again.
Remember: Least to greatest means the smallest number first. Greatest to least means the biggest first. Compare the biggest place first, then the next place, until the numbers are different.
Magic trick: Find the smallest number and cross it off. Then find the smallest of the numbers that are left. Keep going until every number has its spot.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Jump-Rope Contest and find:
- ๐ Find the podium. The girl with the most jumps stands on the tallest step: that’s ordering from greatest to least!
- ๐ง Find the 3 benches of water bottles. They hold 3, 5 and 4 bottles. In order from least to greatest: 3, 4, 5.
- ๐ฑ Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
