Growing Patterns: Princess Ruby's Block Towers

In Princess Ruby’s playroom, the toy blocks are built into towers that grow a little at every step. Each tower has 2 more blocks than the one before, like a staircase.

Remember: In a growing pattern, find how much is added at each step. Towers of 2, 4, 6, 8 blocks add 2 each step, so step 5 has 10 blocks.

Magic trick: Make a little table: step 1, step 2, step 3โ€ฆ and write the blocks under each. Then just keep adding the same jump until you reach the step you need.

Seek and Find

Look carefully at the picture of Princess Ruby’s playroom and find:

  • ๐Ÿงฑ Find the 4 block towers. They have 2, 4, 6 and 8 blocks: each tower has 2 more than the one before. Step 5 would have 10 blocks!
  • ๐Ÿงธ Find the teddy bears on the window seat. Count them: 3 teddy bears, watching the towers grow.
  • ๐Ÿฑ Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
