Of and Off: The Lemonade Stand
Welcome to the Lemonade Stand! Millie, Zoe and Mia are pouring pitchers of cold lemonade under the striped yellow awning, and a few lemons have rolled off the counter onto the grass.
Remember: Of has one f. It is a little joining word: “a cup of lemonade”, “a bag of lemons”. Off has two f’s. It is the opposite of on: “Please turn off the tap.”
Magic trick: Say “on and off” out loud: you can hear the f at the end of off, so give it two f’s. Of ends with a v sound and only joins words together, so one f is enough.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Lemonade Stand and find:
- 🫙 Find the 4 pitchers of lemonade. They stand in a row on the counter.
- 🥤 Find the 6 cups of lemonade. Each one has a striped straw.
- 🍋 Find the 3 lemons that rolled off the counter. Can you help Mia pick them up?
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
