Angles in Shapes: Princess Ruby's Rainbow Castle
Princess Ruby’s Rainbow Castle is full of shapes with angles in their corners: triangle flags, rectangle windows and a rectangle door. Use everything you know to solve the princess’s angle puzzles!
Remember: A rectangle’s 4 corners are right angles: 4 × 90° = 360° altogether. The 3 angles inside any triangle always add up to 180°, a straight angle. To find a missing angle, add the angles you know and take them away from the total.
Magic trick: Tear the 3 corners off a paper triangle and put their points together: they always make a straight line, 180°!
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of Princess Ruby’s Rainbow Castle and find:
- 🚩 Find the triangle flags over the gate. There are 5. The 3 angles inside each flag add up to 180°.
- 🪟 Find the windows in the middle of the front wall. They are in 2 rows of 3: 2 × 3 = 6 windows. Their tops are curved, but each one has 2 square corners at the bottom: 6 × 2 = 12 right angles.
- 🐱 Millie and her kitten Biscuit are hiding in every picture. Can you spot them?
