It’s a sunny day for the Kitten Picnic, where things come in fours! Every kitten has 4 paws (and wears 4 tiny booties), every plate holds 4 strawberries and the lucky clovers have 4 leaves.
The 4 times table
- 1 × 4 = 4
- 2 × 4 = 8
- 3 × 4 = 12
- 4 × 4 = 16
- 5 × 4 = 20
- 6 × 4 = 24
- 7 × 4 = 28
- 8 × 4 = 32
- 9 × 4 = 36
- 10 × 4 = 40
- 11 × 4 = 44
- 12 × 4 = 48
Magic trick: Times 4 is double, then double again: 4 × 6 → double 6 is 12, double 12 is 24.
Seek and Find
Look carefully at the picture of the Kitten Picnic and find:
- 🐱 Find the 3 kittens in booties. Each kitten wears 4 booties. 3 kittens × 4 booties = 12 booties.
- 🍓 Find the 4 plates of strawberries. Each plate has 4 strawberries. 4 × 4 = 16 strawberries.
- 🍀 Find the 2 four-leaf clovers. Each has 4 leaves. 2 × 4 = 8 leaves.
